Celtic role in Bojan Miovski transfer race baffles the Jury as Scott Brown touted for key Scotland role

It’s a huge week in Europe for the Premiership clubs involved and Scotland boss Steve Clarke has some holes to fill

Rangers, Kilmarnock and St Mirren are in second leg action in Europe this week. Who do you think will progress to the next round?

KEITH JACKSON: Fingers crossed all three of them will make it through. It’s about time Scottish teams started landing some meaningful punches in Europe rather than leaving it to the big two to carry the flag.

ANDY NEWPORT: Rangers are inching better with every game and should see their way past Dynamo Kyiv with minimal fuss on Tuesday might. Both Killie and Saints did well to scramble draws at the death last week but Derek McInnes’ team are shipping too many goals already this season and Brann showed their class in spells in Paisley, meaning Thursday might be a tough night for the provincial duo.

SCOTT BURNS: I would love to see all three progress. I would expect Rangers to go through. It will be tougher for Kilmarnock and St Mirren. I just have a feeling that Killie could get the win.

We go into the knockout stages of the Premier Sports Cup this weekend. Who is your tip to win it and who do you see as a potential dark horse?

KEITH:Brendan Rodgers has already gone on record with his target of a clean sweep this season and the Premier Sports Cup represents the first leg of the treble. They’ll go into the knockouts as the red hot favourites. As for the dark horses, Falkirk might provide Hearts with a problem when the pair meet for a place in the quarter finals.

ANDY:Celtic are clearly favourites for all three trophies this season but Rangers will have eyes set on retaining the only cup they lifted last season. Aberdeen have started the season well under Jimmy Thelin and considering they’ve now gone a decade without silverware, the Dons really should be making a push for this one.

MICHAEL: It’s hard to see past Celtic right now and if they add a few signings it will make them even tougher to beat. Aberdeen might be the ones to watch in terms of outsiders.

SCOTT: Celtic would have to be favourites. Jimmy Thelin has made a positive start at Aberdeen. He has built up early momentum and it looks like the Dons could be a force again.

Bojan Miovski is attracting big interest, with Girona in talks. How much do you think the Dons can land for their top scorer?

KEITH: The final fee looks like it’ll be close to the £5m mark and that would represent a serious piece of business. The question is, why aren’t Celtic pulling up a seat at the table?

ANDY: I’d say the £6million-mark would be a good place to start the bidding. If Dave Cormack can lure in another couple of suitors it could quickly rise north of that.

ANDY: If Scott Brown can spare the time from his duties with Ayr, then bringing the former Scotland skipper back into the fold would seem like a savvy move to me.

MICHAEL:Scott Brown. It would be a juggling act for the Ayr United boss but he’d be a great addition to the Scotland camp.

SCOTT: It would be good to see him bring in somebody like Barry Robson. He is a good coach and should get back in after his time at Aberdeen.
