As negotiations continue, Newcastle is less than £5 million away from securing a “terrific” player

Alexander Isak, who cost Newcastle United £63 million two years ago, presently holds that record. Upon his arrival from Real Sociedad, he became the most expensive signing in Newcastle’s history. Though Toon authorities want to finalize a deal for Marc Guehi before the transfer window ends on August 30th, Isak might be replaced at the top.
The 24-year-old is the top center back target for the Magpies; however, a contract with Crystal Palace has not yet been finalized.
Guehi is eager to join Newcastle, though, and it’s looking very likely that he’ll be visiting St James’ Park shortly.
As Newcastle looks to close a “expensive” deal for Marc Guehi, talks are still ongoing.

Paul Mitchell is still in negotiations with Crystal Palace in an attempt to reach a deal with the Eagles, despite Newcastle’s initial Guehi proposal being turned down.
As things stand, there is a £5 million difference between the two parties’ assessments of Guehi. HITC Football expert Graeme Bailey, who discussed Newcastle’s pursuit of Guehi with Geordie Boot Boys, claims as much. “Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are still in talks,” he stated.
“We know Newcastle wants to pay about £65 million with add-ons, but Palace is still seeking a minimum of £70 million.” Though negotiations are still ongoing, they are not quite there yet. A cautious hope toward a deal exists. Newcastle appears to be quite confident and full of hope.Though it’s a costly arrangement, he’s an England international playing for a Premier League team. Really, it is what it is.
“If they can work out a contract, I believe it will be a wonderful signing.”
