‘Inconvenienced’ Rangers fans set pundit off, as former Celtic legend sick and tired of punters on the back burner.

Mark Wilson reckons the Rangers fans have been on the back-burner from the get-go over the ongoing absence from Ibrox.

The Light Blues have now confirmed that they will play at Hampden Park for the start of the new campaign with clashes against Motherwell and Ross County in the Scottish Premiership set to be be played in Mount Florida. A Champions League third qualifying round tie and potentially a play-off plus a Premier Sports Cup knockout game could also take place at their new temporary home with no fixed date on a return to Ibrox confirmed.

Former Celtic defender turned pundit Wilson made the point previously that any building work done on a property would normally come with a time line for completion. There would be an understanding that the projected dates could delay matters but he reckons information from the club to fans has been too slow and rather than see light at the end of the tunnel, the Rangers faithful remain in the dark over when they will return to Ibrox and if they will stay in the south side beyond the original September agreement.

“The fans have been on the backburner from the beginning and they are the one who face the inconvenience really. They are the ones that face in the inconvenience in going to Hampden and changing their environment where they are watching their home team play. They are inconvenienced from this cost that Mark [caller] is on about detracts from the playing budget that Philippe Clement had in mind. So it dilutes the product they are going to be watching on the pitch.

“There is no easy way around it. If work has to be done it has to be done. But fans want information and want to see light at the end of the tunnel and they are in the dark at this minute.”
