In an increasingly busy summer transfer window, Bayern Munich revealed yet another forward on its shopping list

In an increasingly busy summer transfer window, it seems that yet another transfer target of Bayern Munich has been revealed: Désire Doué. According to Florian Plettenberg, the 19-year-old winger is yet another forward on Bayern’s summer shopping list. Doué’s contract with Stade Rennes runs until 2026, making this likely to be the summer in which the French side can generate the highest transfer fee for him.

That was certainly the case for Rennes when they sold Mathys Tel to Bayern in 2022 with two years left on his contract. Though considering the transfer fee for Tel, someone who only managed less than 30 minutes of game time for Rennes, could rise to a potential 28 million euros, one would have to wonder how much Rennes would have Doué, who ha splayed nearly 3000 minutes for the club.

It seems the club understand the potential prohibitive cost of the transfer, as Plettenberg reports that “could become a serious transfer target later in this transfer window if Bayern generates more sales or in 2025.” Without more money or more leverage, Bayern seems unwilling to make a deal. However, Plettenberg adds that “a lot of top clubs are keen on him.” It stands to questions if Doué would even be available later in the transfer window, let alone in 2025.
