Newcastle United announced an emotional departure that is best for everyone as FFP requirements approach.

Newcastle United have been urged to consider any offers that may soon arrive for Miguel Almiron. The 30-year-old scored just five goals for the Magpies last season and rumours have continued to gather traction over a potential move to the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Shabab’s prolonged interest failed to come to fruition in January and it is thought the outfit could once again seek to explore a deal this summer.

Eddie Howe’s side are keen to bolster their options in attack as they eye a potential European return next season, with Almiron’s right-wing position thought to be an area red-penned for improvement. Currently away on international duty with his native Paraguay, Almiron’s future remains unclear.

With Financial Fair Play regulations continuing to loom, one former United defender believes exploring any deal for the former Atlanta United man could help Newcastle’s cause when it comes to balancing the books.

“Miguel Almiron has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, and unlike [Bruno] GuimarĂŁes and [Alexander] Isak, he might be more ready to leave,” Jose Enrique told Grosvenor Sport.

“While Almiron has been a fantastic player for Newcastle with an excellent work rate, his form has dipped recently. The season before last, he was sensational, but now Newcastle have an opportunity to get a good fee for him.

“Almiron is more replaceable than GuimarĂŁes and Isak – who are world-class in their positions. Selling Almiron could help with financial fair play regulations and provide funds for a replacement. Although I would prefer him to stay, he seems the best option to leave compared to GuimarĂŁes and Isak.”
