Can the Irons beat Spurs to his signature? West Ham put on transfer alert as €10m Roma claim emerges

West Ham United and Tottenham are interested in signing Tammy Abraham this summer after a new transfer update at Roma, according to TEAMtalk.

The outlet reported on its website on Thursday (6 June) that both London clubs are “all ears” after the Italian revealed they were willing to listen to any offers for the England international during the summer window.

Julen Lopetegui’s Irons, Spurs and Aston Villa are believed to be among several English clubs monitoring Abraham’s

Sources suggest the former Chelsea man is interested in returning to the Premier League and West Ham are keen to sign a new number nine having failed to secure a striker following Gianluca Scamacca’s sale last summer.

Lopetegui may not yet have officially got to work at the London Stadium, but the former Real Madrid manager is wasting no time getting to grips with his squad ahead of the start of pre-season.

While bolstering the defence and adding some more quality in the wide areas will have to be a priority following the disappointing end to last season, the Hammers cannot let another window pass by without signing a new number nine.

The reliance on Michail Antonio over the last few years has been to the detriment of the Hammers and with Danny Ings’ future up in the air beyond the end of the summer, West Ham cannot afford to let time get away from them.

Abraham may have struggled with injury over the last few seasons, but he has the quality to be a consistent source of goals at the highest level as was shown during his first season in Italy.

He was similarly impressive during his time at Chelsea and with the right service and coaching, he could finally solve the Hammers’ striker problem once and for all.

The only question will be, can the Irons beat Spurs to his signature?
