Bayern Munich’s stance on signing Arsenal star revealed

Bayern Munich’s stance on signing Arsenal star Oleksandr Zinchenko in the summer transfer window has been revealed.

The Bundesliga side are under fresh management after brining in Vincent Kompany and it is thought he wants to make Zinchenko his first signing.

Arsenal splashed out £32m to sign the Ukrainian left-back from Manchester City in 2022 but are willing to offload the 27-year-old after a poor 2023-24 season.

Zinchenko was jeered by his own fans against Aston Villa and the player himself admits that his performances for the Gunners have not been good enough.

Given Kompany’s admiration of Zinchenko, it was thought that he could possiblyswap the Premier League for the Bundesliga ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

According to new report in Germany, though, Zinchenko is not a ‘hot topic of interest’ for Bayern Munich.

Sources close to Zinchenko have also confirmed that a move to Bayern Munich is very unlikely.

Bayern Munich are instead hoping to agree a new deal with their current left-back Alphonso Davies.

Davies is out of contract in 2025 and has attracted interest from Real Madrid but Bayern Munich have recently entered fresh talks with the player’s agent.

There is no agreement at this moment in time but Bayern Munich are open to increasing their salary offer and Kompany is keen to keep Davies at the club.

Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Ian Wright ripped into Zinchenko earlier this season after Arsenal eliminated Porto in the Champions League.

‘The times he has played… and the reason why the crowd are a bit impatient with what we want from him… because we want him to come on, we want him to keep the ball and progress it and not give it away,’ Wright said in March.

‘There was a couple of times, and I don’t know if it’s rust or if it’s because he hasn’t played, I don’t know if it’s because he’s come on in the game and the game is quite hectic for him, but he gave the ball away a few times… and it’s f***ing scary now.’
