BREAKING NEWS: Sean Dyche urges Everton players to take on next fight after points deduction blow

After being docked 10 points, Everton suffered a devastating 3-0 loss at home on Sunday amid anti-Premier League demonstrations. However, Sean Dyche has urged the Toffees to “get on with it.”

Everton must now “take on the challenge” of avoiding the drop following their Premier League point deduction, according to Sean Dyche.

The Toffees’ 3-0 loss to Manchester United yesterday came after a 10-point deduction for breaking profit and sustainability regulations, leaving them five points outside of safety. During their first match following the commission’s ruling, Everton supporters staged a massive protest on Sunday, booing the Premier League anthem and waving signs that read “corrupt.”

Dyche said: “The messaging is we can cry and worry about it and say it is unjust which I think the whole of football thinks it is. So let’s get on with it.

“There is the appeal but we can’t guarantee that. We have to take on the challenge each week.”

After returning from their international assignments this week, Everton players found themselves in a different situation because, prior to departing with their nations, they were eight points clear of the drop zone. However, United’s loss has made them more aware of how serious their current situation is as they fight for survival once more.

“It’s done and we need to concentrate on what we are doing; we made some good points,” Dyche continued. The entire club has taken a serious hit, but we should brush that under the rug and move on.

The Toffees were in 14th place before their points deduction, which was the harshest penalty in league history. On Saturday, they take on Nottingham Forest, who are ranked 14th; a victory there would put them just two points above the drop zone.
