Aston Villa star ‘decides to leave’ as Wolves set to cash in on European ‘interest’

All the latest news surrounding Aston Villa and Wolves as the summer takes hold.
The Premier League season may be over, but we still have plenty of football to look forward to this summer, between the Champions League final on Saturday night and Euro 2024 this summer. Speaking of Champions League, Aston Villa will already be preparing for next season as they look to make the step up to UEFA’s premier competition.

As for Wolves, Gary O’Neill’s men enjoyed a solid season of last and will be hoping to push on next term. In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding Villa and Wolves.

Chiquinho to be sold

Wolves are said to be planning to sell Chiquinho this season despite an impressive loan spell last season. According to Record, the 24-year-old will be allowed to leave amid reported interest from Sporting CP.

Chiquinho made 27 appearances for Famalicão in the season just gone, scoring five goals and assisting four. Interest is said to be building in Portugal, and Wolves are being tipped to take full advantage.

Luiz ‘decision’

Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz reportedly wants to depart this summer. Gazzetta dello Sport say the Brazilian has decided to pursue a new challenge ahead of next season, with Juventus among the clubs reportedly interested.

It would be a big blow for Unai Emery to lose Luiz ahead of next season, but the Brazilian, if he does go, would bring in a big fee and allow Villa to find a replacement. According to reports, Weston McKennie and Matias Soule are both in consideration by Villa.

Summerville news

Alan Hutton believes Villa might be able to get their hands on Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville this summer. He told Villa News: “He’s had an outstanding season hasn’t he? His numbers are quite incredible. Having got that close to promotion, he probably wants to test himself at the highest possible level and he will want to be in the Premier League I’m pretty sure.

“Leeds fans won’t thank me for saying it and I’m sorry about it but unfortunately that is what happens. If Villa come in and test them with a £30million offer, it is probably something that they will look at because they will have to balance the books. They won’t want to lose him, but I think he could get into that Villa team and be another option for them. Don’t get me wrong, Morgan Rogers has done really well, Jacob Ramsey is there and they’ve got Moussa Diaby, Leon Bailey, they’ve got lots of options but that’s what you need in the Premier League.

“He’s definitely got the potential to get to the next level and with what Unai Emery did for Rogers, he’s been outstanding so I think he could really improve Summerville as a player.”
