Richarlison may now be on ‘last chance’ at Tottenham as Saudi sale looms

The Tottenham Hotspur future of the Brazil star is in the balance after failing to make the most of Harry Kane’s departure.

Since Ange Postecoglou’s arrival, Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has found it difficult to establish himself in the team’s plans. Transfer insider Dean Jones explained to GIVEMESPORT why Richarlison could be playing his final season for the Spurs in an interview.

Formerly of Everton, the Brazilian’s move to north London for a lofty fee in the region of ÂŁ60 million was met with much optimism given how well he performed on Merseyside as their first choice frontman.

Much of the Tottenham faithful will feel let down by his lack of output, however, since donning the fabled white of their club. So much so that they could act on the Saudi Pro League interest in the impending transfer market, which would put an end to Richarlison’s stint at the capital club.

Richarlison on his last legs at Tottenham

The centre forward role at Tottenham was up for grabs upon Harry Kane’s £100m move to perennial Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich, though it is club captain Heung-min Son – a winger by trade – that has been deployed there in the embryonic stages of the 2023/24 season.

Richarlison has managed to tot up three goals and assists apiece in his 13-game Premier League campaign, despite often being deployed on the left-hand side of Postecoglou’s front line. However, with Son and summer signing Brennan Johnson able to be deployed as Tottenham’s solitary striker, Richarlison’s opportunities to stake his claim in that role may come few and far between.

Despite this, the article implies that Postecoglou, who was formerly in charge of Celtic, is not in a rush to discard the 26-year-old since the Greek-Australian manager has only been in charge for six months. The Premier League team is unlikely to approve a sale unless they can recover the majority of the transfer money they paid for him in the first place because they paid a hefty amount for his services.

Dean Jones discussing Richardson
Jones said that Richarlison, who has played 49 games for the Spurs and contributed 14 goals (7G, 7A), has one more chance to establish himself as their key man up top. The transfer insider stated that he has become somewhat of a “joke figure” in the top division of England and hinted that Saudi Arabia may be his final destination since interest in signing him is growing.

Given the multiple opportunities he has had to take the lead as Tottenham’s center striker in the wake of Kane’s high-profile departure, Jones thinks this may be his “last season at Tottenham.” He said in an interview with GIVEMESPORT:
