Joe Worrall Nottingham Forest transfer twist amid Besiktas clause

Joe Worrall has been linked with a summer transfer from Nottingham Forest.

Worrall is currently on loan with Besiktas, joining the Turkish giants in February on loan from the Reds until the end of the season. The deal includes an option for Besiktas to make the transfer permanent in the summer.

It is unclear if Besiktas will make the defender’s transfer from the City Ground permanent, with Worrall having played in six league matches for the club. But TEAMtalk claim Worrall will be targeted by Sheffield United this summer, having attempted to sign him in January.

Worrall has previously spoken about his long-term future since leaving the City Ground. He is under contract at Forest until 2026.

“I signed a new contract extension but obviously my game time was limited with the new manager coming in and the direction that the club wanted to go in,” he told talkSPORT.

“I’ve played two games under Nuno but we’re well stocked at Forest, there’s a lot of talent and a lot of good players at Forest.

“For me, it’s all about getting match fit and me sitting there is doing nobody any favours so it’s all about playing games and then we’ll see.”
