Report: Bayern Munich’s bid for a new head coach was once again turned down.

With Bayern Munich no longer having any hope of winning silverware, and second place in the league being the only thing available to play for this season, many within the club will have turned their full attention to finding a head coach replacement for the outgoing Thomas Tuchel.

After failing to land Ralf Rangnick, Bayern turned its attention to former VfL Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund has a close relationship with Glasner (both having previously worked at RB Salzburg), and while talks have taken place, Crystal Palace has made it abundantly clear that the Austrian coach isn’t going anywhere.

News #Glasner | After Ralf Rangnick‘s rejection, FC Bayern specifically considered Oliver Glasner! This is also because Glasner and sporting director Christoph Freund have had a close relationship for years There have been talks. However, Crystal Palace provided clear information that Glasner will not be released! Therefore, Bayern have also been considering a return of Hansi Flick in recent days.

Glasner has started life in London well, with a record of six wins, three draws, and three losses in twelve matches since joining Palace in late February. The Eagles are currently in a run of six matches unbeaten which includes a win over Liverpool and only one draw.

Glasner was previously out of a job since the summer of 2023, meaning that Bayern had plenty of time to act and bring the Europa League winner to Munich not just before he was snapped up by someone else, but before they lost the Bundesliga to winners Bayer Leverkusen.

Alternatively, Bayern Munich is once again entertaining the possibility of bringing former head coach Hansi Flick back to the club, who at the moment seems like the only good candidate left in search of a new manager.
