Wolves v Crystal Palace: Early Premier League injury news as 6 out and 4 doubts
Wolves and Crystal Palace clash at Molineux on Saturday (May 11) in the Premier League.
Both sides had contrasting results against Manchester opposition this weekend. Wolves lost 5-1 to Manchester City at the Etihad with Gary O’Neil in the stands after being handed a one-match ban. Palace on the other hand made easy work of Manchester United, thrashing them 4-0 at Selhurst Park on Monday night.
It’s the final home fixture of the season for Wolves who 27 points from a possible 54 in front of their home supporters this term. As for Palace’s away form, they’ve picked up 18 points on the road this season, a place behind Wolves.
Earlier in the season, the South London club claimed a 3-2 victory at Selhurst Park. Hwang hee-Chan equalised after Odsonne Eduoard opened the scoring but Ebrechi Eze restored the lead and then the Frenchman added another. Matheus Cunha got one goal back in stoppage time but the Eagles held on for the victory.
It’s fairly tight between the two sides this weekend and Palace can overtake Wolves with a win. Wolves are three points higher in 12th but have a worse of goal difference. Here’s the latest injury and team news before both manager’s conduct their pre-match press conferences.
Wolves team news
Two players are ruled out and three players are doubtful for Wolves for this weekend’s fixture. Craig Dawson underwent surgery on his groin in mid-April and that put him out for the rest of the campaign. Youngster Leon Chiwone suffered an ankle injury in training following a collision in early April and his season was soon ended from that.
Brothers Mario and Noha Lemina are both pushing to be involved. Mario felt a tightness in his hamstring and was forced off in the second-half to avoid aggravating it. The younger Lemina, Noha has been back in training since early May after picking up a hamstring injury and will want his first taste of Premier League football after joining from PSG.
Pedro Neto is back in full training after a few months on the sidelines with a hamstring injury. He wasn’t on the substitute’s bench against Man City but this weekend could see him perhaps make a cameo. He won’t want to take any major risks though with EURO 2024 around the corner.

Crystal Palace team news
Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone underwent surgery for an elbow injury and is out for the season. Former Sheffield United and Man United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is Palace’s first choice at the minute.
Mali midfielder Cheick Doucoure has been out for a majority of the campaign after rupturing his Achilles tendon. The 25-year-old last played in November and will play no part on the weekend. Will Hughes is a doubt with a calf injury and is currently being assessed. He came off in the 68th minute against Man United.
Jefferson Lerma is out with a thigh injury at the minute and in the latest update he was ruled out until at least the United game. A return doesn’t seem to be on the cards this weekend but he could return for their final match.
Former Arsenal defender Rob Holding suffered an injury setback in April and it is unclear when he will return. The 28-year-0ld has been limited to one appearance in the Carabao Cup this season. Matheus França is another that will play no further part this term because of a groin problem.
