Exclusive: ‘Huge’ update on Nottingham Forest & Gibbs-White

Nottingham Forest will be looking to receive a “huge” fee to sanction a move for Morgan Gibbs-White this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed it will take a bid of at least £50million to £60million for Gibbs-White to leave the club.

The 24-year-old, who is under contract until 2027, has once again been instrumental for the Reds this season as they battle it out to remain in the Premier League.

O’Rourke revealed Newcastle United and Tottenham are plotting a move to sign the attacking midfielder once the transfer window reopens.

The former England youth international is likely to be the club’s most sellable asset if they are forced to balance the books following their financial fair play issues.

Morgan Gibbs-White could leave Nottingham Forest

It could prove to be a tricky summer for Forest on the transfer front even if they manage to secure their Premier League status for another season.

Football Insider revealed on 5 May that they could be forced to sell defender Murillo following increased interest in him recently from several top clubs.

It could be a similar story for Gibbs-White after he’s recorded five goals and eight assists this season despite his side’s struggles in the Premier League.

The attacking midfielder once again showed his quality for the Reds in their 3-1 victory over Sheffield United on 4 May, where they provided their survival hopes with a massive boost.

But it could prove difficult to keep Gibbs-White at the City Ground for another season if he’s offered the chance to play European football elsewhere this summer.
