Prior to Bayern Munich’s match against VfB Stuttgart (the Bavarians would go on to lose 3-1), club executive Max Eberl addressed the team’s coaching search and the rejection from Ralf Rangnick earlier this week.

“A person has made a decision in his life. That ultimately came as a surprise to us. But it is what it is,” Eberl told Tz as he sounded like Jaqen H’ghar in Game of Thrones. “I don’t want to talk about (Rangnick’s alleged promise to take the gig). It’s over. He is a candidate that we would have loved to see at FC Bayern, but he decided differently. When one door closes, another opens that you may not have known before.”

“We have always said: We will try to do it as quickly as possible, but also as appropriately as possible. We will definitely find a coach. When every expert, every newspaper, every Wald-Wiesn newspaper jumps on it and writes about FC Bayern. Then you see how attractive the job still is.”

And so the search continues…
