World Cup of Darts winner rocks up for local pub competition wearing Nottingham Forest shirt

A World Cup of Darts champion left pub-goers stunned when he turned up to play in a local pub competition wearing a Nottingham Forest shirt

Australian darts star Damon Heta incredibly turned up to a local pub competition wearing a Nottingham Forest shirt.

The world No.11 has been a crowd favourite with his hilarious walk-ons and jovial behaviour making his every appearance a must-watch. But ‘The Heat’ has pulled a stunt one further after he rocked up a local darts tournament.

Heta, who won the 2022 World Cup of Darts alongside Simon Whitlock as they beat a Wales side of Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton, moved from Down Under to England to give his professional darts career the best chance of success.

The Aussie now resides in Leominster in Herefordshire, and he proved no stranger in getting stuck in with the locals after he turned up to the event wearing a Forest shirt, alongside most of the pub also sporting Tricky Trees’ tops.

A video posted to social media showed Heta practising on one of the darts boards before he walked out to Darude Sandstorm with a huge smile on his face through a crowd of bewildered punters, proving to be quite a different experience to the big stage occasions Heta has gotten used to.

Heta later added a video of him travelling to the event to his Instagram, also uploading a picture of him posing for a group picture and a clip of him making his walk-out without the security guards, flailing arms and 180 signs that the Worlds offer.

The 36-year-old has earned over £1million in prize money during his career and his most recent TV run saw him reach the semi-finals of the UK Open back in March. Heta beat Premier League stars Nathan Aspinall and Luke Littler before succumbing to eventual winner Dimitri Van den Bergh in the semi-final.
