Enzo Maresca’s ‘plan B’ outlined as Leicester City return to winning ways

The latest Leicester City news as Jamie Vardy came off the bench to score a brace in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Watford at the King Power Stadium.

Pundit Keith Andrews claims that Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca doesn’t need a backup plan this season because of the caliber of players he has available.

When City played Watford at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon, they got back to winning ways. In a 2-0 victory, Jamie Vardy scored both goals after coming off the bench in the second half. The second goal was scored from the penalty spot in added time.

The victory expanded City’s lead at the top of the Championship table, as indicated by other outcomes over the weekend. More significantly, the team is now ten points ahead of Leeds United, who are currently in third place, and three points ahead of Ipswich.

Speaking of City, Andrews emphasized Maresca’s methodology for each match after Ipswich’s defeat at the hands of West Brom. The pundit thinks that the team will keep getting better all season long.

“I would personally prefer a plan B and probably C when you don’t have a squad as talented as his, but his plan B is from the bench because he can just look around and think ‘ok Vardy hasn’t done it today let’s go with Iheanacho,'” he said to Sky Sports. “They have a ton of really good players in there.

“I believe they are really consistent in their methods. Take a look at some managers and their approaches to games. Carlos Corberan, for example, is very particular about the opposition. I believe that the way Enzo organizes his team is unique to them; it’s what they do, and it’s what they will keep getting better at every day. weekly, in terms of how they approach games, ultimately, they have a squad of players who will beat most teams in this division, which they’ve shown.”

After losing 1-0 to Middlesbrough and Leeds back-to-back before the international break, City bounced back with a victory over Watford. However, colleague analyst Jobi McAnuff was confident in City’s capacity to overcome that setback.

“The last few results didn’t worry me at all; we played their game against Leeds, who were amazing,” he remarked. “I doubt many teams will have those dynamic players, especially in attacking positions, who can truly pursue Leicester City and prevent them from doing what they do so well.

“The entire team possesses exceptional quality. We discuss identity; theirs is obvious in that you know exactly what you’re going to get, and  I certainly can’t see any other outcome than them carrying on what they have done so far this season and getting themselves promoted.”
