Revealed: Nottingham Forest to land points deduction – New paperwork confirms it

Nottingham Forest can no longer avoid points deduction as Everton appeal paperwork uncovered

Following Everton’s successful appeal, the Premier League published a statement and the full written reasons behind the Appeal Board’s decisions.

Section 201 of that document states that “any breach of rule E.51 (i.e. any PSR Calculation showing losses of over £105m over the relevant period) warrants a points deduction, and nothing less than a points deduction.”

As reported by The Time, Forest “admitted” to the Premier League that they were in breach of financial regulations having exceeded their allowable losses of £61million over three years.

The finding from Everton’s appeal suggests that a points deduction for Forest this season is now inevitable given that the club admitted to excessive losses.
The size of that points deduction will depend on how excessive Forest’s losses were over the last three years.
