‘I have to agree’… Ben Foster explains whether he thinks Nottingham Forest are going down or not

So, what has Foster said about the current situation involving Forest? Let’s take a closer look…

Ben Foster delivers verdict on Forest relegation chances

Well, although there is a title race ongoing in the Premier League, it’s exciting down at the bottom of the table too.

Burnley and Sheffield United look to be cut adrift but Forest, Everton, Luton and Brentford are in the mix for the final spot.

Forest will hope that they can pick up enough points and Foster isn’t convinced they will survive this season.

On the latest edition of The Fozcast, Foster, Phil Jagielka, Mark Goldbridge and Paul Robinson discussed the relegation battle.

Foster believes that Forest are going down, agreeing with the pick of Manchester United fan Goldbridge.

The conversation on The Fozcast went as follows:

Ben Foster: “We’ve got to talk about the FFP thing as well, Everton have been hit, Forest will probably get hit.

“So, you’re talking Everton, Luton, Forest and Brentford – but they should have enough. Who do you think will be going down with them lads?”

Paul Robinson: “I think I’d probably still say Luton. Even though Everton have had problems with the points deduction, they’ve still got that fight.”

Mark Goldbridge: “Forest.”

Wrexham goalkeeper Ben Foster retires from football for a second time

Foster: “Yeah, I have to agree because you know they’re going to get points taken away.”

Goldbridge: “I’ve seen Luton play against all the big teams and they’ve done okay. Gibbs-White could keep Forest up, he’s a good player but I think Forest.”

Phil Jagielka: “It’s going to be difficult. If points get taken off Forest they’re in the mixer. If they lose points, how will that impact that squad? It’s totally different if they drop into the bottom three.”

Forest will aim to prove doubters wrong

If there is one negative to being a Premier League football club it’s the concept of pundits constantly changing their minds.

Forest beat West Ham last weekend and everyone was presuming the team would be alright this season.

On Saturday, Forest lost to a top-four outfit and now all of a sudden, pundits are backing them for the drop.

The Reds haven’t been in the bottom three all season. Okay, things are now very tight but there are lots of points to play for yet.

Hopefully, Forest can stay focused for the remainder of the season and prove comments like these ones from Foster completely wrong.
