Leeds United star Patrick Bamford says £8.5m Leicester man is ‘fantastic’ in the changing room

As both teams compete for automatic promotion from the Championship, Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford gushed about Leicester City defender Conor Coady, calling him “fantastic.”

Coady may have paid up to £8.5 million to join Leicester last summer, but he has had difficulty getting playing time at The King Power. Jannik Vestergaard and Wout Faes are preferred by Enzo Maresca.

Coady, the former captain of Wolves, has only been awarded 10 games, despite being a 10-time England star. Throughout his career, Bamford has played alongside Coady for England at the U18, U19, and senior levels.

In a recent interview with My Mate’s A Footballer, Bamford discussed his sixth youth cap as well as his England cap. He made four appearances with Coady wearing an England shirt.

Bamford has played for England’s U18 team twice, the U19 team once, and the senior team once, during a 4-0 victory over Andorra in 2021. Bamford mentioned how great Coady can be in the locker room.

To be honest, he’s great in a changing room. He was a teammate of mine in U17 and U18 England. In the most recent installment of his podcast featuring comic Joe Wilkinson, Bamford stated, “He was the captain back then.”

He was one of them even back then. Conversely, though, there are moments when you’re just lounging and he won’t stop talking. However, he is excellent in the changing room, and he was the same way when we traveled with England.

Surprisingly, Coady is having trouble getting game time at The King Power. However, it’s also likely that the former Everton player is playing an equally important role for Maresca in the background.

Whatever is going on at Leicester, it is obviously effective. The Foxes’ best center back is unquestionably Faes, thus Coady should get an opportunity to play and solidify his position if Vestergaard is sidelined.
