West Ham United submit squad for UEFA Europa League knockout stages

West Ham United has announced their team for the UEFA Europa League knockout stages in 2023–2024.

The Irons have advanced straight to the round of 16, where they will play two legs against opponents who have not yet been revealed. David Moyes’ team is hoping to build on their UEFA Europa Conference League victory from the previous season by winning a third straight European campaign.

According to UEFA Europa League rules, participating clubs had until Friday, February 2, 2024, at 11 p.m. to turn in their “List A” of senior players.

List A consists of no more than twenty-five players, including at least eight “locally-trained players” who have played for a club connected to The Football Association for at least thirty-six months between the ages of fifteen and twenty-one.

Of the eight, four have to be “club-trained,” which means they have to be between the ages of 15 and 21 and have been registered with West Ham United for at least 36 months. The remaining four have completed their “association-trained” requirements by registering with any other clubs that are associated with The FA.

Four locally trained players—Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen, Aaron Cresswell, and Danny Ings—as well as goalkeeper Joseph Anang and defender Ben Johnson have been named to the West Ham team.

With the addition of locally trained players James Ward-Prowse and Kalvin Phillips to the list, West Ham has listed 21 players on List A.

After arriving on loan from Manchester City, Phillips is added to List A, while Saïd Benrahma, Pablo Fornals, Thilo Kehrer, and Conor Coventry are removed due to their individual exits.

List A is full and cannot have any more players added for the knockout stages.

In addition, the Club has filed List B, which consists of players who were born on or after January 1, 2002, and who have been registered with West Ham for at least 24 months since turning 15 years old.

Among those on List B is Divin Mubama, who was part of the Irons’ UEFA Europa Conference League-winning squad. List B can be updated ahead of the round of 16.
