Confident and undaunted, Bayern Munich newcomer ready for baptism by fire

It’s been a busy week for Bryan Zaragoza.

There was very little discussion last Friday about the winger’s potential to move to Bayern Munich sooner than July.

All of that changed when Kingsley Coman suffered an MCL tear, and with it, Zaragoza’s ambitions for the following five months.

“I was supposed to arrive in the summer. The circumstances are as they are. It’s a special chance for me. I’m very grateful to be here at this fantastic club. I owe a lot to Granada, but it was a great opportunity for me to come here now,” Zaragoza remarked. I was certain that I wanted to see Munich. It was painful, of course, to leave Granada, but I was certain. Making my debut here is my primary objective. I’m here to support the team and absorb knowledge from the outstanding players and coaches.

Although Zaragoza is aware that some fans may be concerned about his height (1.64m, 5’4″), the Spaniard has had to contend with these types of questions all season long.

“A lot of people talk about how tall I am and how German football is different from Spanish football, but you don’t have to be 1.90 meters tall to play football.” When asked to describe himself, Zaragoza replied, “It doesn’t matter,” adding that he was a winner, clever, and modest. “Lionel Messi has always been my role model. I absolutely like Kingsley Coman and Leroy SanĂ© here at Bayern. I’m excited about them all. Every player at Bayern always puts up their best effort.

“I consider myself to be a’street footballer.'” Whether I start tomorrow’s game will be determined by the coach.
