Liverpool’s potential stroke of luck in Donyell Malen pursuit

Liverpool are known to have held a long-term interest in Borussia Dortmund’s special talent, Donyell Malen.

After a dismal 2022–2023 campaign, the Reds are once again having a fantastic season, and kudos to Jurgen Klopp for inspiring his team despite lacking a number of stars.

Even though there has been a noticeable improvement, the manager and the team will still search for players—Malen among them—who can enhance the team’s current roster.

Malen is still on Liverpool’s roster, according to BILD (via TeamTalk), and TeamTalk also mentions that the player has changed agencies.

The SEG agency, which facilitated Cody Gakpo’s move to Anfield, will now be representing him, according to the report.

Because they already have a solid working relationship, Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool’s dealmakers will have an advantage when it comes to signing the player.

Malen is still under contract with the Bundesliga team for the time being, and it doesn’t even seem like Dortmund is considering paying him a fee for his services.

That is not to say that a deal cannot be made in the future.

Dortmund will sell if the price is right, as evidenced by the past performances of players like Robert Lewandowski, Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland, Ousmane Dembele, and others.

Liverpool may soon be rewarded if they hold out for the moment.
