This is true even if the midfield player’s contract position is precarious and he may be able to depart the Sky Blues for free at the end of this campaign.

O’Hare has returned in top form after a serious knee injury which kept him out of the first 12 games of the Championship season.

This season, Coventry is once again focused on getting promoted to the Premier League, and the 25-year-old is seen as essential to their prospects of succeeding in that endeavor.

Football Insider has learned from a reliable source that the Sky Blues would be better off paying O’Hare this month than they would be if he were promoted.

In 16 games so far this 2023–24 season, the former England Under–20 international has managed six goals and one assist.

O’Hare signed his most recent contract extension two years ago, having joined Coventry from Aston Villa in 2020.

The midfield player has received an offer for a new contract at the CBS Arena, according to Sky Blues manager Mark Robins.

For the Midlands club, the right-footer has played in 162 games and recorded 18 goals and 27 assists.

In an effort to stave off immediate relegation back to the second division, Burnley, now ranked 19th in the Premier League, is pursuing forward reinforcements towards the end of the transfer season.

As all is going on, Leicester and Southampton are looking to add more weapons to strengthen their chances of getting promoted in the second half of the season.
