Chris Sutton forecasts the FA Cup score against Plymouth and explains the Leeds United automatic promotion decision.

When Leeds United plays Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup on Saturday, January 27, Chris Sutton believes the team will win six straight games overall.

The BBC Sport analyst predicts that Daniel Farke’s team will win 2-0 and that the Whites will be able to capitalize on their recent 1-0 victory over Norwich City and continue their winning streak at Elland Road.

Sutton feels Leeds will have more than enough quality on their roster to win on Saturday, even if he thinks their attention will still be on the Championship promotion race, for which they are “right in the mix.”

He stated, “It’s pretty clear who are the favourites here – Leeds haven’t lost at home all season, while Plymouth haven’t won away,” in the BBC Sport FA Cup predictions on January 25.

“On Sunday, Leeds needed an extra-time penalty to defeat Preston, but it was the right call. Their manager, Daniel Farke, is someone I really admire; he did fantastic things at Norwich, and they are currently in the running for automatic promotion.

“Obviously, that is their primary goal for this season, but it would also be fantastic to see them give the FA Cup a serious shot. If they can duplicate their November victory over Plymouth at Elland Road, nobody will want to visit that venue in round five.

“Argyle will pose a threat because they have Morgan Whittaker, a very skilled attacker, but Leeds will win hands down,” I said.

Finish the task at hand.

Leeds United is expected to exhibit the same traits in the FA Cup on Saturday. They have proven this season that they are extremely difficult to beat, especially at Elland Road.

Leeds should be expecting to go to the fifth round after this encounter, even if Plymouth has a few dynamic players and is a far different team than the one the Whites met earlier this season under Steven Schumacher.

Even though it’s never that simple in a knockout tournament, the Whites proved they could put in the grunt work necessary to try to grind out three points in their victory over Norwich.

Ideally, they will fulfill Sutton’s forecast and easily advance to the next round, but soon long, focus will return to the Championship with a trip to Bristol City approaching.

In unrelated Leeds United news, following the team’s victory over Norwich City, a pundit likened a Whites defender to Bobby Moore.
