A £30 million bid is made by Napoli for the young Nottingham Forest player.

Orel Mangala, a midfielder for Nottingham Forest, is apparently the target of an increased offer from Napoli.

This is in line with a recent report from Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany, who states that the Serie A winners are making every effort to capture the Belgium midfield player before the January transfer window closes.

It is believed that the Italian’s most recent offer is a six-month loan with a buyout clause at the end of the current campaign.

Under the terms of the agreement, which are thought to benefit both teams, Napoli would have to pay about £30 million (€35 million) in total, provided the player plays at least half of the games for at least 45 minutes.

Offloading one of their most valued players is a sad but inevitable consequence of Forest, like many teams in and throughout Europe, struggling to achieve Financial Fair Play (FFP) and the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability standards.

Even though Mangala only moved to Stuttgart eighteen months ago, he appears to be the first player to be sacrificed.

With two and a half years remaining on his contract, the 25-year-old has played in 51 games in all competitions for the City Ground, tallying one assist and two goals.
