Milan to go all-in for €12m star after Buongiorno blow

The pursuit of AC Milan’s main defensive goal appears to be on hold, leading one journalist to assert that the team will now put all of its effort into pursuing another target.

Milan will have to go elsewhere for the time being, at least until Urbano Cairo makes a January deal for Alessandro Buongiorno very impossible. However, because the Italian defender did not turn the club down, a future move is still feasible.

Stefano Pioli has said that the Rossoneri would now look in other places for a central defender.

in his pre-match interview that the team is hoping to bring in another defender.

“Yes, the club is operating, so the decisions we wish to make in this market won’t alter. Two weeks remain.

However, it makes sense why reinforcements are required. Pioli is reportedly going to be without three central defenders for a while.

Pierre Kalulu will be gone for at least another month, with a possible but unlikely return in late March. Malick Thiaw won’t be back until the end of February, and Fikayo Tomori won’t be back for a while.

Journalist Claudio Raimondi of SportsMediaset discussed the likelihood of a defensive arrival and potential targets, and MilanNews reprinted his remarks.

Who do you think the next defender will be?

Buongiorno will not be Milan’s defender. Cairo won’t sell him, but there may be a chance in the future. Brassier will consequently be the focus of Milan’s pursuit, despite Brest’s resistance and continued demand for 12 million euros for the French center defender.

Milan, though, is hoping that time will work in their favor and that a discount may be available to enable them to seal the deal for about €8 million.
