Bayern Munich is considering signing a player for £52 million.

Before the transfer window shuts, Thomas Tuchel might be about to annoy his old team, Chelsea.

According to recent claims made by TalkSPORT reporter Alex Crook, a center-back could be the sole new player signed by Chelsea this month. The center-back is Jean-Clair Todibo of Nice.

But according to FootballTransfers, Tuchel and Bayern Munich have now made Todibo their priority.

If clubs wish to sign the central defender during the current transfer window, they will need to pay a hefty amount.

Journalist Ben Jacobs claims that Todibo may cost up to €60 million (£51.5 million) due to Nice’s unwillingness to sell.

Todibo being targeted by Bayern might be detrimental to Chelsea. If the Frenchman had to choose between the two, he may easily wind up choosing the former over the latter.

Bayern is led by world-class coach Tuchel, and they are the Bundesliga champions who annually qualify for the Champions League. It would be hard to decline one of their proposals.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are ninth in the rankings and haven’t challenged for the Premier League crown in a long.

However, Chelsea may have a fantastic opportunity if Bayern signs Todibo.

Florian Plettenberg, a journalist for Sky Germany, said on X yesterday that it is possible that Matthijs de Ligt may leave the Allianz Arena in the summer. De Ligt may be even closer to the departure door with the introduction of a new center-back, in which case Chelsea may want to target that player.

Todibo appears to be the Blues’ top center-half target at Stamford Bridge right now, and the Blues still have options with him. But if Bayern does make a move for the France international, then Chelsea should start to worry about missing out on him.
