Kylian Mbappe ‘demanding £1.25m-a-week wages amid Liverpool, Real Madrid links’

Kylian Mbappe, the forward for Paris Saint-Germain, is reportedly asking any prospective suitors for an outrageous £1.25 million a week salary.
Given that the Frenchman is currently in the final six months of his contract with the Parisiens, the protracted drama surrounding his future may soon come to an end.

Since Mbappe declined to activate the 12-month extension in his contract with the French champions, he is now free to start talks with other teams about a pre-contract arrangement.

Saudi Pro League teams supported by the Public Investment Fund would be able to meet Mbappe’s financial demands, but the 25-year-old refused to move to the Middle East after Al-Hilal made a record-breaking £259 million offer for him in the summer.

After the season concludes, Liverpool and Real Madrid are thought to be the two most likely destinations for Mbappe, the former Monaco protégé, should he decide to end his career at PSG.

Mbappe’s signature won’t be easy to come by, though, as The Telegraph reports that the attacker’s group demands their client receive an astounding £64.5 million a year after taxes, or about £1.24 million every week.

In addition, Mbappe would anticipate a huge signing-on bonus because there isn’t a transfer fee, and neither Real nor Liverpool would be expected to drastically reduce their salary structures to make room for him.

Mbappe unexpectedly rejected a move to Real Madrid in 2022 in favor of signing a new two-year contract at Parc des Princes with a third-year option. However, PSG made a concerted effort to sell him after last summer’s discoveries.

After Karim Benzema switched to Al-Ittihad, a move to the Bernabeu was thought to be feasible. However, because Real Madrid made one big signing in Jude Bellingham, Los Blancos had to settle for loaning Joselu from Espanyol.

Mbappe has never left Real’s radar, even if they have the opportunity to extend Joselu’s contract permanently. Bellingham has also had a fantastic debut in La Liga, scoring 17 goals across all competitions.

Last weekend, there were rumors that Real and Mbappe had reached a deal regarding Mbappe’s summer transfer, but the France international’s camp swiftly refuted any such agreements.

According to reports, Mbappe has until the middle of January to respond to Carlo Ancelotti’s team; if not, Los Blancos will definitively stop their long-standing interest in the 25-year-old.

If Mohamed Salah, the Reds’ current top owner at £350,000 per week, is successfully enticed to the Saudi Pro League, Liverpool might need a new big-money star.

Salah’s contract expires at the conclusion of the 2024–25 season, but Liverpool rejected a late £150 million offer for the Egypt international during the summer transfer window.

After being briefly made to train with players on the transfer list, Mbappe was brought back into the squad and has since scored 25 goals in 24 games for PSG this season.
