Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich ‘reach verbal agreement over Eric Dier transfer’

According to reports, Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur have verbally agreed to a deal for the defender Eric Dier.
This season, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the 29-year-old has been deemed surplus to needs under the expansive and progressive leadership of Ange Postecoglou.

Dier has only made four appearances in the Premier League, starting on one of those occasions. He is now ranked behind players like Cristian Romero and new summer addition Micky van de Ven.

The center back, who cost £4 million to sign from Portuguese powerhouse Sporting Lisbon in August 2014, has made 365 appearances and scored 13 goals for the Lilywhites.

German journalist Florian Plettenberg claims that Spurs and Bayern Munich have verbally agreed to a deal for Dier’s services.

According to the source, the 49-time international will sign an 18-month contract at the Allianz Arena, with the possibility of a one-year extension from the Bavarians.

Dier’s current North London contract is slated to expire at the end of the 2023–24 campaign, and Tottenham intends to take advantage of this to avoid losing Dier for nothing in the summer.

The Englishman, who last started a competitive game for Spurs on November 11 in the loss at Wolverhampton Wanderers, is reportedly going to cost Thomas Tuchel’s team £3.5 million.

Dier is expected to join his countryman Harry Kane at Bayern, even though the agreement between the Lilywhites and the German team is not finalized just yet.

In the competition for Genoa defender Radu Dragusin, Spurs defeated the Bavarians, and Postecoglou is rumored to have approved Dier’s switch.

The Romanian international is expected to make his Tottenham debut shortly after the North Londoners reportedly made a new approach for him.

Dragusin, a former Chelsea striker, will be joining Timo Werner in Postecoglou’s squad after joining Spurs on a season-long loan from RB Leipzig.

Spurs have struggled without a recognized central striker after losing all-time leading goalscorer Kane to Bayern in the summer for almost £100 million. Richarlison is frequently the center of attention for the team’s attacks.

When the Lilywhites travel to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League, Werner and Dragusin might make their team debuts.
