Wayne Rooney’s term as manager of Birmingham City is anticipated to come to an end today. After taking over for former Coventry City captain John Eustace at St Andrew’s in October, the former captain of Manchester United and England has had a terrible 15 games as manager of Blues.

Following their 3-1 victory over the Baggies, the Blues were ranked fifth, but since the managerial change, they have been in freefall.

The club’s owners assigned Rooney the mission of bringing a fresh take on “no fear football” when he came with much hoopla back in October. Rooney has suffered as a result of the significant decline in Blues’ performance on the field.
