AC Milan super star makes ‘selfish’ claim about Cristiano Ronaldo and says he could reach his level one day

While talking about his own play, Rafael Leao made a “selfish claim” about Cristiano Ronaldo his Portugal colleague.

The AC Milan player, who has 23 caps for Portugal, has had the opportunity to learn from the player he looks up to.

From an early age, Leao has always held the five-time Ballon d’Or winner in high regard.e

AC Milan are Finally Heading in the Right Direction

In a recent interview with Sky Sport Italia, the 24-year-old was questioned about his belief that he can follow in Ronaldo’s footsteps professionally.

Leao, who is already causing a stir, admits that he lacks the “selfish” qualities that turned Ronaldo into a goal-scoring machine.

In addition, he included Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe, but he still thinks everything will work out in the end.

He said to Sky Sport Italia, “Yeah, but I’m not selfish.”

“I can score goals, but I pass the ball to my teammate if I can also offer an assist. At these levels, Mbappe, Haaland, and Messi’s numbers speak for themselves, thus they are what really matter. I’ll reach that level when I think like them.

Leao has scored 26 goals in 69 games throughout his last two Serie A seasons.

Leao, though, exudes confidence, and he was questioned about his ability to rank among the world’s best players.

“Yes, because I’m doing well and I know I can stay there,” was his response. Yes, I am currently at a lower level than other players my age.

The former Lille and Sporting CP player then selected a star-studded lineup, starting on the left side of a front three that also comprised Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

4-3-3, he explained. Thiago Silva is centered with [Mike] Maignan, [Joao] Cancelo on the right, Theo [Hernandez] on the left, and Van Dijk, [Virgil]? No… Dias Ruben. Luka Modric, Kevin De Bruyne, and Jude Bellingham are the midfield players. And in front of them are Mbappe in the middle, Vinicius on the right, and Leao on the left.
