Bayern Munich vs Holstein Kiel: Predicted lineup for Bundesliga clash

Bayern Munich will return to Bundesliga action on Saturday evening as they take on newly promoted side Holstein Kiel away from home.

Vincent Kompany will be keen for his side to keep their winning run going, but a potentially tricky test lies in store for Bayern on Saturday. Holstein Kiel have lost both their matches in the Bundesliga so far this season, but did manage to beat Bayern Munich when the two sides last met (in the 2020/21 DFB-Pokal).

Nevertheless, Bayern Munich will fancy their chances of getting the three points and maintaining their perfect start to the season. And their hopes will be boosted by the return of Leroy Sané, who looks set to start on the bench on Saturday.

Michael Olise will be eager to open his goalscoring account for Bayern, while Harry Kane will be determined to build on the brace he scored recently for England.

Here we take a look at how Bayern Munich could line up for their Bundesliga clash against Holstein Kiel.

GK: Manuel Neuer – Neuer will start in goal for Bayern Munich and will hope for a rather quiet evening in goal after a busy start to the season.

RB: Joshua Kimmich – It will be interesting to see if Vincent Kompany continues with Joshua Kimmich at right-back. The newly-appointed Germany captain scored from that role against the Netherlands earlier this week. Sacha Boey is the other option in the Bayern squad.

CB: Kim Min-jae – Due to a lack of alternatives, Kim Min-jae will likely retain his place in the starting XI. The South Korea international will hope to deliver a much-improved performance after a sluggish start to the season.

CB: Dayot Upamecano – Another player who will be keen to impress is Upamecano. The Bayern defense has looked wobbly at times this season, and both center-backs will need to be at their best in the coming weeks as games come thick and fast.

LB: Raphael Guerreiro – Guerreiro will hope to retain his place in the starting XI after a solid showing against Freiburg. The battle for the left-back spot remains tight, with Alphonso Davies also in the mix to play from the start.

DM: JoĂŁo Palhinha – We could see Palhinha finally get his maiden opportunity to play from the start for Bayern Munich. The Portuguese international could add some much-needed balance and defensive steel to the Bayern starting XI.

CM: Aleksandar Pavlović – Fresh off his first goal for the Germany senior team, Pavlović will be keen to keep the momentum flowing. The talented midfielder has established himself as an important player for Bayern and should be in the starting XI on Saturday.

AM: Jamal Musiala – Another player who impressed during the international break, Musiala will be key to Bayern’s hopes against Kiel. The playmaker will be looking to set the tone for his side and will once again play in a free role behind the striker.

RW: Michael Olise – Still adjusting to life at Bayern Munich, Olise will hope to make a strong impact against Holstein Kiel on Saturday. The winger recently made his senior debut for France.

LW: Serge Gnabry – Gnabry has enjoyed a strong start to the season and also scored the winning goal against Wolfsburg on matchday one. He will hope to keep his strong run of form going against Kiel.
