João Palhinha raves about Müller and Co., Bayern Munich’s winning qualities that lead to a “top team”

It has been a long time coming, but finally João Palhinha has the opportunity to line up for Bayern Munich next to some of the world’s best players. But how exactly does it feel to do what every Bayern fan dreams of and have the opportunity to share the pitch with them?

Speaking to Bundesliga’s official english website, Palhinha went into more detail about his thoughts on three stalwarts for Bayern over the last decade, Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller and Joshua Kimmich and the joy he feels to line up beside them: “I think they are the club. They’re top players and a reference for everyone. Müller, Kimmich and Neuer, what they have been doing at this club for so many years their quality. To share the pitch with them and so many other quality players – but especially them because they have made history at the club – it makes me really proud. I will give everything that I have to try and help them win the trophies they deserve. They’ve won a lot of titles between them. So it’s important for me to win some in my first season at the club.”

But as much as those three define the club and the team, what truly sets the Bavarian juggernaut apart is the strength of the entire squad, “I think that if you have a team with so many competitive players it’s natural the team improves, because everyone wants to play. Everyone’s ready and when you have this quality, the team gets better, which is what’s happening with us right now. When everyone’s back fit, we’ll have a top team.”

Of course, one cannot expect a fully fit squad at Bayern. But the pride, arrogance and competitiveness associated with winning will always at the Säbener Straße and those are the emotions Palhinha and the others will try to harness into winning as many titles as possible this season.
